Production

Production of the 2-4mm COOLBEADS was initiated in early 2002 for delivery to Delta Thermal Systems (DTS) in Raleigh, NC.  Quality assurance and laboratory testing of the COOLBEADS were conducted at Triangle Research and Development Corporation (TRDC) before delivery to Delta Thermal Apparel, Inc (DTA).  

 Production of macroPCM cooling apparel by Delta Thermal Apparel (DTA) was begun in the Summer of 2002 with multiple deliveries of 3.5-lb and 5-lb vests, 1.0-lb collars and 1.5-lb cowls to two major Theme Park customers in Kissimmee and Orlando, Florida. 

 

Presentations

Presentations, publication and/or the exhibition of the development of PECSÔ and COOLTECHÔ cooling apparel as well as the testing of the macroPCMÔ garments will be made at the following conferences in 2002.

  1. Second Symposium on Protective Clothing, sponsored by the School of Textiles at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC on June 12-14, 2002.

  2. U.S. Navy Institute’s Seventh Annual Warfare Exposition and Symposium at the Pavilion Convention Center in Virginia Beach, VA on October 2-3, 2002.

  3. Third International Conference on Safety and Protective Fabrics, sponsored by the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) in Charlotte, NC on October 23-24, 2002.

  4. 2002 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) in New Orleans on November 17-22, 2002.
